Guide to the Destin Fishing Rodeo

Held throughout the entire month of October, the Destin Fishing Rodeo has brought thousands to the Emerald Coast year after year to compete for the biggest catch. Home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the world, Destin offers one of the best fishing rodeo events there is. Running for more than 70 years, this rodeo is well-loved by locals and visitors alike.  

Participants 
Private boats and charter boats must register to enter the Rodeo at least 24 hours prior to weighing a fish. There is no entry fee for anglers on registered vessels. Shore fishermen can participate by just bringing their catch to the scale.

Spectators  
Daily weigh-ins take place at the docks at AJ's Seafood & Oyster Bar on the Destin Harbor. You’re invited to watch fishermen bring in their catches as they hope to bring in the big one!
