Soak Up Summertime before School Starts
It’s always a little sad when summer is over and kids go back to school- which is around the second week of August for most Southern states. Which is why I think it’s a great time to do all those things you thought you’d do this summer- but never got around to it!
Rent a pontoon and head to Crab Island- there are dozens of companies along the Emerald Coast that have reasonable prices and even offer half day fares. Crab Island is a place of family fun with floating restaurants, giant floats and trampolines for the kids and warm shallow waters perfect for beginning swimmers.
A lot of summertime events come to a close in August as well like concerts every Sunday on the Destin harbor- its great venue to let the kids get all that energy out with fancy footwork. Plus, the addition of Destin Whole Foods has brought some more kind hearted giving to our area that makes the taste of going back to school a little sweeter. They’ll be giving away 100 free lunches Sunday August 7th packed with healthy goodies like Back to Nature chocolate chip cookies, sliced turkey and cheese, Nordic gummies and even delicious Vitamin C supplements.
