Besides the gorgeous fall weather, fall is also host to a bounty of beach festivals, and it all starts off with Labor Day weekend. Northwest Florida Daily News Weekends in October are jam-packed with activities and events designed to showcase all the Emerald Coast has to offer. Kicking off the month’s events calendar is the Destin Fishing Rodeo. This month-long tournament invites anglers of all ages to experience why Destin is named ‘the world’s luckiest fishing village’. One of the newest events to hit the scene is
South Walton Fashion Week , October 10 - 12, 2014. Featuring regional designers in fashion, jewelry and accessories as well as local boutiques, the multi-day event culminates with a glamorous runway show at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin.
Looking to quench your thirst this fall? Look no further than the
Baytowne Beer Festival on October 17 and 18, 2014. Sample 200 domestic and international craft beers as well as learn about the brews offered from brewery representatives. Enjoy live music as you sample and stroll along the shell-paved streets of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin.
October ends with one of the area’s best juried art festivals, the
Mattie Kelly Festival of the Arts, October 25 - 26, 2014. The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin is home to this year’s event featuring more than 100 regional artists in a variety of mediums. Live music and children’s arts & crafts make this the perfect family-friendly event.
And, November brings to the beach the popular
Seeing Red Wine Festival, November 6 - 9, 2014 at Seaside, and
Blue, Brews & BBQ at HarborWalk Village in Destin on November 8, 2014. Enjoy libations, great food and live music at each event.
